My students were so excited when they first saw the materials, especially the Calming Corner card. They love having a space to cool down and refocus. One student who often gets frustrated used the calming strategy cards to take deep breaths and get back on track without needing my help. It's been amazing to see them learning to manage their emotions on their own.\r\n\r\nWe're also using the SEL Manipulatives to build teamwork and a growth mindset. Students enjoy sharing their goals and challenges using the discussion prompts, which has helped them open up and support each other. Next, we'll be using the materials in small groups and independent work to keep building their social-emotional skills every day.","fullyFundedDate":1723500863940,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-essentials-shipment-2024-08-1/8637186/","projectTitle":"Classroom Essentials Shipment: 2024-08-12","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Turner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6780082_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1628612796295","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msturnermusic"},{"teacherId":5965615,"projectId":8678700,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous support. Your donatation helped fund not only classroom materials, such as headphones, coloring pencils, glue sticks, and binders, but also essential first-aid such as band-aids and kleenex.\r\n\r\nIn regards to the coloring pencils and crayons, my students now have access to shared supplies they can use when engaging in a mindfulness activity (drawing or writing to express themselves), or while participating in a guided listening activity (creating a listening map, or creating an artistic illustration to go along with a piece of music). These materials have been replenished thanks to you!\r\n\r\nWhen it comes to the binders, these mateirals will be used for my concert band students. Already they have been of great use! This is so my students have a place to put their sheet music without losing it, and without damaging it so easily.\r\n\r\nThe headphones are a classroom favorite! With these headphones, studnets are able to independently learn and work while listening to music. At times we require headphones to concetrate on our work, and sometimes we like to listen to music while we complete our written assignments. If we have a little down time, studnets love to listen to music.\r\n\r\nThis project was one of my biggest ones to date, and I cannot express my appreciation \r\nenough.","fullyFundedDate":1730254613313,"projectUrl":"project/building-the-basics/8678700/","projectTitle":"Building the Basics","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Macaruso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5965615_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1539195412094","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/missmacaruso"},{"teacherId":6780082,"projectId":8331295,"letterContent":"Getting hygiene supplies for our classroom has been a huge help for my students. When they first saw the items, they were excited and relieved to have what they need to feel clean and confident at school. Simple things like having deodorant, toothbrushes, and soap have made a big difference in their daily routines. One student even mentioned how having these supplies at school helps them worry less about feeling self-conscious around their classmates.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the supplies to teach good hygiene habits and why they matter. Students are learning how to take care of themselves and build healthy routines that they can use every day.
