Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am very lucky to work with sweet and caring students. Many of them lost their homes during the hurricane. They are adjusting to many changes at once, including coming to a school that is also going through repairs and rebuilding.
Students had to start the school year without a library and books to read, as many of the books got wet.
Our students are caring and hardworking. I am one lucky teacher. Getting random hugs from them makes my job a true blessing.
My Project
The education world is facing serious challenges in our classrooms nowadays. It is important that we provide engaging and up to date technology to make sure we get all students interested and focus on what we are trying to teach them. If founded, my students will use the laptop during class rotations to create individual folders with book reports done electronically instead of the traditional paper / pencil way. They will listen to books and then work on readers responses, book reports or writing a letter about their Reading. this will definitely increase their interest in Reading and Writing as well. Students will have the opportunity to develop typing skills and improve their reading comprehension.
