My Students

In my classroom we love to explore reading in many ways. Whether it be the teacher reading the story, the student reading to themselves, the student reading to a friend, or listening to reading. Audio books are an amazing way for students to hear a book being read fluently.

My students love to learn and move around.

In our room we are always engaged in centers, group work, and exciting activities. Our school prides itself in differentiating our instruction and providing multiple ways to approach reading is a perfect way to do so.

My Project

I am requesting a read along listening center and a set of books with CD. My students will use the materials I requested for our "Listen to Reading" center. It is a wonderful opportunity for them to hear a book read fluently while they follow along in their books. For many students just looking at the words in a book does not assist them in fluency, comprehension, or meaningful connections. Giving them an alternative way to approach reading is extremely beneficial to them.
