I have the pleasure of teaching 18 of the sweetest 4 and 5 year
olds in Pre-K.
Our school is a Title I school on the outskirts of Charlotte NC. Several of my students have special learning needs, and most have challenges making ends meet at home. But, they all come to school ready to learn and love every minute of it.
My students are very inquisitive and love to learn and interact with a variety of materials. My goal is to provide my young students with an array of learning experiences by providing interesting and engaging materials and supplies
My Project
The listening center I have requested will allow my students to have the opportunity to go to a comfortable area within the classroom to listen to a story and/or music free from distractions. Adding a listening center to my classroom will help improve my student's language skills and vocabulary development.
The listening center will also provide students with fluent reading models and will help teach critical listening skills.
Children will also be provided with the opportunity to hear their favorite books read aloud again and again. The more they listen, the greater the likelihood that they will learn new vocabulary words. The center will also allow students to listen to new stories and songs.
