Ms. Sturdivant from Cleveland OH is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need headphones, headphone jacks, speakers, and audio stereo system to help create learning environments that allow my auditory learners to flourish.

The future is bright for my students. Providing the students with an array of experiences broadens their opportunities for success. My scholars are always questioning and gathering information to make meaning of the world around them. Attending school provides an unimaginable number of avenues in which information can be tapped into and provide valuable knowledge and experiences.
I have a high energy group of early elementary scholars who love exploring and learning.
They attend a Title I school where they all qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Nearly all of them come from low income households. The classroom consists of a diverse group of scholars from typical students to those with learning disabilities. For many of my scholars, school is the only place where they have access to lifes' necessities. In spite of the challenges, my scholars come to school daily to a place where they are being provided with exciting learning experiences that will produce life long readers.
Recently we received some wonderful tablets from Donors Choose to use in the classroom. My class was so excited to use them and are so eager to get on them any chance we get. We've been using them for interactive assignments, center time and test taking. However, we've run into a issues with the headphones we have not working well. In addition, during whole class instruction we use the school computers and I also use my cellphone. Having a set of speakers for the school desktop and an audio stereo system will benefit my auditory learners focus when the whole class is involved in the lesson.
To use our new tablets during center time, we need headphones to keep our stations quiet!
Headphones not only help keep our stations quiet, but help to keep students focused on the task in front of them. We are also looking to get some headphone jack adaptors to ensure these headphones fit into the jack with the cases we have on the tablets. All of these things will really help us get the tablets into in an efficient and appropriate manner within the classroom. Again my learners that benefit most from the incorporation of exciting sounds will get more out of the whole class lessons with the addition of desktop speakers and the audio stereo system.
