Listen Up! Headphones for Scholars to Listen to Good Books

Help me give my students a set of headphones (20) to use with our iPads during centers, as purchasing these can be a burden to many families.

My Students

My life-long dream has been to teach Kindergarten. My students and I become a family from the first time that they step into the classroom. My past students have known me as "Momma Bear". They know that I won't let anyone mess with my cubs and I will do everything in my power for them. I love introducing them to the magic that happens in school !

As my students will come to me with a widely-varied background of learning and life experiences, I need to be prepared to provide them with a rich educational experience in a safe and loving environment that will allow them to grow and learn, free of worry in the classroom.

We are over 60% free and reduced-price lunch in my district. Often, families struggle to buy school supplies. We, as teachers often supply a great deal of what you see in classrooms. Together we can work to get the things that our students need for success. Your partnership allows us opportunities that would otherwise not be available. Thank you!

My Project

My students need headphones to listen to books and complete learning activities on our classroom iPads. Students use them during our differentiated learning centers for students to listen to books that interest them, as well as for interactive learning games. Listening to others reading is one way to promote a love for books and purchasing headphones can be a burden to many of our families.

Children are made readers on the laps of their parents and in classrooms by teachers.

With so many scholars in my classroom it is essential for them to have headphones so that their learning does not disrupt that of other students. I would love to provide these for my students to relieve the financial stress that buying them can cause for many of my families. They will remain in my classroom from year to year and support the learning of many students.
