Our world is becoming more technology driven with each passing year. I will teach two blocks of Social Studies and Reading to 50 third graders this coming school year. They have a hunger for technology, and using it to solve real world problems. They attend a high poverty school district, and we are a Title I school. Most students do not have access to these types of technology outside of school. They enjoy playing interactive educational games to increase their reading and math skills. My students are visual learners and will benefit from using these devices to look up and view different Social Studies events and battles that we learn about in third grade.
My Project
We recently received three iPad minis, and we have three desktop computers that we are in great need for headphones with microphones. Students have a computer program that allows them to record themselves reading the books. This is great for increasing fluency, and allowing students to hear themselves reading. These headphones will allow students to fully use this awesome reading program. Students will also be able to record presentations for the class on various projects throughout the year. We need this charging station to keep our iPads charged up for use in the classroom. The headphones need the adaptors to plug into the iPads. I would love to give my students these headphones.
