My Students
The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and 85% qualify for free/reduced price school lunch. My diverse Kindergartners represent a plethora of cultures and linguistic backgrounds, and all of them have something special to share with us!
My students are Latino, Arabic, Vietnamese, Filipino, Nepali, African American, Italian, Filipino/Caucasian/Cambodian, and American Indian/Caucasian.
They are all energetic and eager learners in our Kindergarten classroom. We are learning to be safe, responsible, and respectful in our classroom and school!
My Project
The speakers will be used in our classroom and outside our classroom to play calming music and music for our P.E. dance activities. This will give us great sound and keep us moving to the beat of the music! The snacks and hand sanitizer will keep us healthy and clean for our after P.E. activities.
Listening to the music with our new speakers and doing Yoga with our games and DVD will help us learn better and calm our fidgety, energetic bodies!
The books about autism and calming down techniques as well as the reading books about personal space will help us learn about and understand all students' needs and differences. This will help us with empathy, compassion, and patience for people that are different than us.
The mini notebooks and Post-it notes will be used to write positive reminders to ourselves and to each other for encouragement and motivation. It will also be used for sketching, drawing, and writing our feelings and emotions about our growing experiences.
