Listen to Reading

My students need a listening center with a working tape and cd player. We need a class set of headphones to use at the listening center and to use with our Ipads!

My Students

This is my first year at a new school! The staff and the community have made me feel so welcome!

The kids and the families here are wonderful!

I love coming to work every day! My kiddos are here for 3 hours a day and man do we work while were are here!! Letters and sounds, math, reading, centers and BAM time to go!

I am adjusting to this fast paced kindergarten! I can always use a few new things to help us operate at maximum efficiency!

My Project

Beginning readers need exposure to all kinds of print. They listen to their parents, siblings and teachers read to them. We often spend hours each week reading to our kids so they will grow a love of reading. Our voices, however are the same, our jokes and inflection repetitive. When I provide a chance to listen to a story from a new voice in my classroom it is heard, really heard, by more ears.

They listen as Pete rocks out about his new shoes, they listen as Pig gets her pancake and they listen as Cat in the hat shows the kids his crazy rainy day antics.

Each story that is read is a win in my book! Help me show them as many books as I can!
