Help me give my students an iPod and bluetooth speaker to allow them to listen to stories. This opens up a whole realm of opportunities that aren't always accessible to all students.

My Students

I have 25 energetic and enthusiastic 4th graders. They are bright and full of energy. They work incredibly hard and are always interested in new learning.

My students are all amazing, hard working students that enjoy being at school.

I would like to continue to encourage their love of learning and reading. My students love listening to, and reading along with books and stories. It is a great way to break up the day and engage their brains in a different way.

My Project

I will use the iPad and bluetooth speaker to have students listen to stories as they read along with the book. Listening to stories while reading along helps students with word recall and recognition. It also helps students understand how to read fluently.

I also want to make good books accessible to all the students in my class.

Having access to stories being read aloud will help students to improve vocabulary. Giving students who aren't the strongest readers a way to access the same books as their peers is a great tool that will encourage a deeper love of reading.
