This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
There is so much that can be said about my students. They face so much adversity and rise to challenges in the classroom. There is a high rate of students living at a poverty level, yet that doesn't keep them from sharing thier rich backgrounds.
There is always a sense of community at this school.
As a Community of Caring school, students from different grade levels work together to teach the values of Respect, Responsibility, Trust, and Caring. The older students work as mentors to the younger students, which they will use in the future when they become mentors.
My Project
Durable headphones are hard to come by, and in a school setting students test the durability of items constantly. This is why I am requesting headphones that are described as durable. I have also ordered a back up with a plethora of earbuds.
There is something to be said about how great our technology has gotten over time.
These resources are important learning tools. For example, one resource we use is Lexia. It provides learning that can be done at home or school to improve Literacy. There is a lot of listening involved with Lexia, and, without headphones, it is difficult to focus on its content.
If we need to switch over to remote days, these headphones can go home to help with virtual instruction.
