Mrs. Kruse from Dayton OH is requesting sports & exercise equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a space to come together as a community. We need floor mats and book bins.

My students are creative, active, helpful, and inquisitive. They come to school wanting to learn and try new things. They welcome new challenges and different ways to learn. Some students come to school without necessities. Some of the families struggle to provide shoes, coats, backpacks, supplies, and even help with homework. My school is located in downtown Dayton along the river. It is a beautiful area with many possibilities for learning. I love how kind, loving, and helpful my little learners are!
I am requesting foam mats that can fit together to make a class meeting area. I am also requesting book bins so I can organize the book shelves in my classroom to make it easier for the students to find the books they want to read. These foam mats and book bins will help my students learn in a print rich environment. My students will be given a space to meet together as a community to listen to stories, share work, and spread out to enjoy books. The different colored mats will provide each student a space where they can work individually if they choose. The book bins will help my students organize our library and easily find books they want to read. My students will love spreading out on the mats and enjoy a good book alone, with a small group, or our entire class! All students can become engaged in a book and improve reading. These mats will give them a comfortable space to listen to and spread out and read. The bins will help them find books that engage them without digging through book shelves and becoming frustrated.
