My Project

Our students spend a lot of time actively reading and writing, but there aren't a ton of opportunities for students to relax and just listen. My main purpose for this project is to provide my students with opportunities for listening comprehension practice on Fridays when working in a small group special education setting.

This will give my students an opportunity to relax their brains and enjoy a good story; followed up by sharpening their social skills with group conversation based on the stories they listen to.

This project will also give my students more opportunities for practicing decoding strategies and completing some phonics word work; which are skills highlighted in majority of their IEP's. These are skills my students will need as they grow through their educational journey and life.
