This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a low-income, school district. My students come from many different backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: They love to learn! My students come to class eager to learn with positive attitudes. However, I am not always able to give them everything that they need to have an equal chance to succeed in life.
I teach math and reading.
I have different levels of learners in my math class and I have a low-level reading group. I teach one hundred students each day. There is so much I would love to give my students, but the funds aren't always there.
My Project
Starting next school year, our school is implementing a new program to monitor the success of our students. This program also helps our students learn the materials that they are struggling with. This new program is interactive, and has to be done 3-5 times a week. We need headphones so that each student can listen to the audio portion of this program. Audio is important, because a lot of my students has difficulties reading the math question, which results in them not being able to complete it. The questions are read to them, which is why we need the headphones.
