My Students

I teach some awesome and unique kiddos in South Seattle! Our class is very diverse which makes learning from each other incredibly fun. We have 3rd, 4th and 5th graders, who all come from different cultural backgrounds. Somali, Spanish, Vietnamese and English are just some of the languages my students know!

All my students have learning disabilities, and I love working with each one to figure out their favorite way to learn.

We work hard in our class to create a fun, supportive, and accepting environment where students learn how to respectfully voice their opinions and take on leadership responsibilities. Students focus on individual goals, while also learning how partake in group learning. They are incredibly resilient children who won't give up and I am humbled to be their teacher. For we are Firebirds, who rise up to any challenge!

My Project

My families are requesting headphones with mics to help their children stay focused while distance learning. Some are accessing remote class while in day care or homes with other siblings learning or playing in the background.

Additionally, most of my students have speech goals or are still learning how to make correct letter sounds.

The mics on these headphones will help us hear them better and know how to instruct them to improve their speech and reading. Overall, this will significantly increase our learning, attention and reduce background noise, making a positive online learning experience!
