This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Saving lives. Many of my students are babysitting younger siblings every day. Do they know what to do if something happens? Living in an urban area creates many difficulties. Why not give our children an opportunity to gain skills that can last them a lifetime?
My students are middle school kids who are eager to learn and excited about learning CPR and First Aid skills.
They strive to please and work hard at all they do. My students are from an urban school system where many people have counted them out; however, they try so hard for me at all times.
My Project
My students need first aid supplies such as gauze sponges, exam gloves, and elastic wrap to help with learning First Aid and CPR skills. With your donation, my students will not only leave school with all the academic knowledge they can gain in three years with us, but also with a life skill that will allow them to help others. This donation can lead to students finding jobs as daycare providers or lifeguards or even inspire them to enter the medical field.
With so many students having to babysit younger siblings on a day-to-day basis, you have an opportunity to indirectly save lives.
Many students do not know what to do in an emergency. How long does it really take paramedics to get to kids in the Washington, DC area? Have you experienced the traffic there? Help my students save lives. Be the spark to help plant seeds. My kids could be the next generation of nurses and doctors.
