My students need an inviting, clean, comfortable and enjoyable place to listen to and read stories. WE need a couch, carpet and more. By providing my students this important reading space, we can watch kids grow into lifelong readers!
My students are dreamers, hard-workers, and love learning despite any home life situation they might have. Some come to school hungry without having a meal the night before, and yet they manage to get their homework done. My students are heroes in my eyes. My kindergarteners this year are so kind to one another, and genuinely care for others; I am so lucky to have the opportunity to inspire and hopefully create lifelong learners.
My goal in teaching is not only to inspire my young ones to value education but to value themselves.
Each child deserves to feel loved, special and empowered. Kindergarten is the BUILDING BLOCK, the FOUNDATION of their whole educational experience. If we cannot GRASP their love and curiosity for education, then we have failed them all; we have failed our future generations, leaders, Presidents...

My Project
My kindergarten classroom is lacking the most crucial piece: a reading and listening center. If my students had a nice place to sit, listen to, and read stories, I really believe more students would cultivate a love of reading.
Students learn so much just by listening to stories being read to them.
If I could provide a learning center for my students to use on a daily basis it would provide the necessary component that is missing in my classroom.
The carpet that I chose for this project is inviting and a place for children to sit and read if they're not already enjoying being on the comfy couch listening to a story via the CD player I requested!
All students deserve a special place to cozy up and enjoy a good book. Let's give them this opportunity!
