My students need flash cards, 4 tablets with protective cases to use for research, reading books on tablets, playing interactive education games and taking pictures on nature walks.
I want my students to crave answers to questions they have and learn how to research to find the answers. I want them to practice research skills and share what they learn with each other. Many of my students have no technology to practice on at home. Reluctant readers will get excited to read!
My students are a diverse group of hard workers with many coming from rough home lives.
More and more are being raised by grandparents because parents aren't around. They overcome many obstacles just to get to school everyday! These students deserve the best education has to offer to help them overcome their disadvantages!
My Project
Imagine having answers right at your fingertips and knowing how to question if the information you found is creditable, practicing your math facts in a way that gets you excited and reading books on your level without your peers making fun of how thin your book is. That is how my students will use these tablets in our classroom! Students will be exposed to subject matter and then be able to find further information on that subject. They can play interactive games to learn everything from math facts to 3-D representations of cells. Books will accessible! Pictures taken during learning walks can bring ideas from outdoors indoors!
Technology is used everyday by adults and students who can afford it.
Your donation will help bring technology to students who can't afford it but deserve it. Having tablets in my classroom will allow me to teach my students to utilize technology correctly. They will be better prepared for college and future careers where technology use is second nature. My classroom will be enhanced and students will be excited to learn and devour information!
