My Project
Our fifth graders are learning to become social justice advocates through the power of history. The students in my class learn more than just about the explorers and founding fathers. In our fifth grade class, they learn about the marginalized and oppressed voices of World War 2 and Women's History.
Linking history with literacy allows students to read about the perspectives throughout the time period and the importance of knowing what really happened to build critical thinkers.
As the future of the world, our students need to read and learn about historical events.
