My Students

I teach in a K-5 elementary building. Our students are inquisitive and ask thought-provoking questions with supportive parents. Typically most students who enroll in kindergarten spend their entire elementary career within our school. We are a school that prides itself on PBIS implementation and the home-school relationship. My school has also recently implemented AVID, which places emphasis on college and career readiness.

All of these support systems allow students to feel supported and more willing to learn.

We are raising lifelong learners at my school!

My Project

Our school library needs updating. Students have the opportunity to check out books from the school library weekly, but without a full-time librarian, many books are outdated and worn out.

With this grant, our school will start the process of updating and replacing books for all students.

With almost five hundred students in our building, we need more books to engage all types of readers. Our hopes are to bring in more recent, popular series to make library time exciting again. Many of our books have seen better days and some of the most beloved books need replaced. This grant will give us the exciting opportunity to start updating our library.
