Help me give my students supplies for their creativity and learning! I've included a lot of sensory items to help regulate my students. I've also included supplies to ensure safety and cleanliness!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a special education teacher, I feel like I constantly need more sensory items to help my students regulate. I often reflect on their interests and pick up things that would benefit them both mentally and in their education.
Many of my students have a natural interest in science and learning, which is wonderful and I want to help them grow their curiosity!
Items like puzzles, a light table, and body socks not only make them happy, but it becomes a natural and helpful teaching moment. Filling their sensory needs also comes with a lot of mess! I've found that my kids learn and feel better after we're able to clean and reset the space for the next adventure. which is why I've included some cleaning supplies like a vacuum and sponges.
