My Project
Teachers Pay Teachers has endless resources that help to target the specific needs of each child. It contains activities that target speech sounds that are directed toward a group of specific children I see this year. TPT has fun activities to do around the holidays that incorporate different cultures and ideas into the holidays and allow for more diverse backgrounds to come together and feel welcome any time they come to speak. It also has language activities that help several kiddos with goals to increase their descriptive language or inferencing abilities.
The goal of this project is to receive donations sufficient to purchase online resources that target specific speech and language goals for the kids and allow for more effective speech therapy sessions, where fun and engaging activities have been put together by other educators and made available for purchase through Teachers Pay Teachers.
These kiddos are a unique bunch that come from various backgrounds, ethnicities, and cultures but have one goal in common: to achieve their speech/language goals. They come to speech motivated to work hard and try their best, even if their progress is slow. Sometimes discouragement gets the best of them, but it's in those moments that having fun activities can help motivate them to keep going and lift them out of the pit they got stuck in. If this project gets funded, I know for a fact they would be forever grateful, as this provides more opportunities to learn through fun and engaging activities.
