This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher of fifth graders in a community with a high poverty rate, it is challenging to ask for devices to use in the classroom. Our students are 100% free lunch and have many issues facing them.
These students do not get the chance to use all of today's latest technologies. They love to take pictures and watch videos so what better way to learn than to make videos. Our district does not offer teachers much to work with in the form of extra technological devices.
These students are constantly looking to the media for answers to life's problems. If I make them part of that media, they will be able to make videos that can provide a better connection to the curriculum they are studying. We will use this camera to assist in projects requiring a video entry.
Your help will ensure that my students get a well-rounded experience that includes aspects of their lives outside of school. They can use this camera to provide memorable school experiences related to academic learning. Your donation would be greatly appreciated for years to come.
