This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Preschool is where we build a love of learning and teach students skills they will use throughout their entire educational career. We teach learning by capturing their natural curiosity to discover new things about their world and get them ready to enter Kindergarten as an early reader.
For many, this is the first time they develop a sense of responsibility for their own learning, choices, and friendships!
My students love each new experience and are excited about their daily growth as individuals. They are learning routines and procedures, as well as many new fundamental concepts of education.
My Project
In preschool, we spend the majority of our time exploring our world and various educational concepts during our center time. During this time, the teacher sets up areas in the classroom where students are encouraged to discover new things through play and as they play they learn a multitude of new things.
This light table will capture their interest and add another level of learning and discovery to our center time.
In addition to the light table, I am also asking for materials that are designed to be used with it. These various materials will help students use their fine and gross motor skills, explore colors, allow them opportunities to collaborate with peers, and get an enhanced look at objects through the magnifying cubes.
