I teach 24 curious and thoughtful second graders. My class is highly diversified; academically, socially and economically. They are each so individual but they share a common curiosity and desire to learn more about the world around them. They come to school ready to learn and eager to be challenged and need a range of methods and materials.
My students are kind and compassionate second graders with a varying abilities and educational needs.
I enjoy so much seeing how they are growing and learning together.
My students love school. They enjoy reading, writing, math, science and art. I am thankful to work with them each day.
My Project
Each and every day, we use our document camera to share our work and view lesson presentations. The technology enriches our classroom environment. Unfortunately, our current document camera is failing fast showing documents in sepia tones and videos in shades of pink and purple.
A working document camera will greatly enhance our learning and allow students to display their work for each other.
Having a working document camera in our classroom is an essential tool my students need to properly access the curriculum in an engaging and interactive way. It enhances students' abilities to share and collaborate with each other. It is wonderful to see students smile as their work is placed under the camera for the class to see. They gain great confidence in explaining their thinking and fielding questions from the class. A new document camera would allow us to continue this practice.
