it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love my students for their creativity, resilience, and unique perspectives. They come from diverse backgrounds, including English language learners and special education students, which enriches our classroom with a range of ideas and approaches. What makes them special is their determination to overcome challenges and their eagerness to explore new concepts, even when the material feels unfamiliar. Whether they are collaborating on projects or troubleshooting designs, they consistently show curiosity and a passion for learning. With the right tools, I know they will thrive and achieve great things.
The materials we are requesting, including Chibitronics Chips, LED Stickers, and basic electronic components, will provide an accessible, hands-on way for all students—including English language learners and those with special needs—to explore engineering concepts in a low-pressure, creative environment.
With Chibitronics, students can create interactive paper circuits, combining art and technology in a way that speaks to their diverse interests and learning styles. The tactile nature of these materials will engage students who may struggle with traditional methods of instruction, while also providing opportunities for them to practice critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. As they design their projects, they will learn foundational engineering principles, which will help them build confidence in both their academic and creative abilities.
My goal for this project is to create an inclusive, engaging experience that empowers every student, regardless of their background or learning needs, to explore and create with technology. I want them to see that they can be creators of technology, not just consumers. With your support, we can provide these students with the resources they need to develop essential skills, spark a passion for STEM, and discover the joy of making something from their own imagination.
