Help me give my students a opportunity to see writing come to fruition with a portable document camera. They will be able to see the writing process and also be able to present their own final pieces!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It is hard to get anybody interested in writing, let alone a bunch of seventh graders! Teaching writing, like essay writing, is not easy. In a world that is super fast paced and instant gratification is the norm, writing has become a challenge for many students. Kids need to see, step-by-step, a modeled piece of writing, before they can attempt to write on their own.
Kids are willing to take on any challenge when equipped with the right tools and materials.
My Project
Having a document camera will help my 165 students to see, first hand the writing process. It will help them to interact with writing in a way that is not feasible on a whiteboard. For many of my diverse learners and English language learners, being able to visually see what I am sharing will make lessons more comprehensible to them.
They will be able to see how to brainstorm, draft, revise/edit, and take a piece to publication, and have the opportunity to showcase their work to the class.
They will learn that writing needs time, and really IS a process!
