This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are part of a larger school that celebrates inclusion. Many of my ESE students are ASD (autistic), IND (intellectually neurologic disabled), VI (visually impaired), and wheelchair bound. Most of my verbal learners speak different languages and bring to my class a strong sense of cultural identity including there native music, and acting. This year I have been given the opportunity to teach dance and acting to my special needs learners. Most of my learners never thought about dancing or acting. Some imagine themselves as the actor or actress on television but never envision themselves ever participating in a real show. Some thought it was impossible until we read the book "Alice In Wonderland," and did a reenactment. I have several students confined to wheelchairs so my goal is to get them moving around even it's with their wheels. I want to implement a fun way to dance and act while feeling the beat.

I have several students confined to wheelchairs, so my goal is to get them moving around even if it's with their wheels. I want to implement a fun way to dance, and act while feeling the beat. My learners need a bluetooth speaker package, with a boom box and microphone, so that they are able to feel the beat, and hear themselves speak. The stage lights will assist with the realistic effect of being in a live show. These items will give my learners options they need for their best acting and dance experience. "Lights, camera, let's get moving!"
