This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
With the high fast pace of a typical news room to the collaborative planning of a board meeting, this is a typical day here at the WSHE Television Production Studio. A small room of buzzing, excited students eager to learn and create a daily news show worthy of media attention.
My students are an eager group of students excited to take on the ways of the modern world.
The students are mostly immigrant students coming from low economic backgrounds. We are a Title I school in a very low income neighborhood. The majority of our families are single parent household. These students come from homes where little English is spoken and technology and resources are scarce. The library is an essential resource where parents and students have access to free technology such as computers, printers, Internet and even a television production studio. These students are a happy and appreciative group considering the little that they have. The encourage us as educators to continue to give and help them in any way possible. They are so grateful for anything that you can give them and truly value it for all it is worth. It is always so rewarding to give back to these wonderful students.
My Project
Our news team is a fun and energetic group looking to make a quality news show. My students will use the microphones to replace the ones in the studio that have gone bad and no longer produce quality sound. We will now be able to have a functioning news room that will show case all the amazing talents of our students. These students will be able to finalize upgrade to modern technology and produce media that is up to par with local news stations. This will help them to adapt to the technological world that we live in today. The TV tuners are to assist in seeing that their production gets broad casted out onto the whole school. The ink is going to enhance our news teams overall production. This allows them to have access and print current news information that they can use in their media production. Also, it allows us to make sure that the have functioning equipment and are not being held back by limited resources
These donations will help improve our classroom because it will allow our students to have a unique experience that is rival to that in an actual media production facility.
These students are so eager to learn new and exciting techniques that this donation will truly help them reach a new level. This donation will help them also be able to keep a memory of all the hard work that they have put in through out the year. This will truly make them feel that even they are making a difference.
