Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine having to use your home printer to print out worksheets for your classroom. Our school's title 1 money was cut this year and we chose to keep teachers, which left us with no money for materials. We will also raise money to give the students an end of the year celebration.

Midland Park Primary School is grades pre-school through first grade.

Our school is in an low socio-economical area. 98% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. We are a title 1 school because of this. Title 1 schools receive money through government funding, but this year they cut the amount of money we receive. We had a choice to keep some teachers or use the money for materials. We chose to keep the teachers and because of this have very little money to buy supplies. Since our students are so young, they do not know the difference. They come to school so happy everyday and make the best of what is given to them. Our teachers want to give our students the best that they can. The teachers shouldn't have to spend their paycheck to buy ink for their printer or crayons for students who cannot afford them.

My Project

By helping us purchase this popcorn machine, we can sell the popcorn and raise money to buy supplies for the classroom; such as glue sticks, printer ink for the teachers so they can print out worksheets, arts and craft supplies, and treasure box prizes. We will also reward the students at the end of the year with a celebration. We plan on getting a jump castle for them. We can also use the popcorn for healthy snacks in their classroom. This machine will allow us to pop more corn at once, which will maximize our time and effort.

Your donation will help our teachers supply their students with the much needed supplies to get them through the day.

Your donations will stop the teachers from emptying their pockets everyday and lighten their load. Your donations will also supply children with healthy snacks during the day.
