My students are an amazing group of young people. They are funny, creative, thoughtful and smart. I have the privilege of advising our student-led and student-created after school Writing Club, all led by an amazing 6th grade student leader. This student leader conceived of the idea, came up with the club philosophy and guidelines and runs the club on her own. Their main project for the year is creating a play with original scripts devised by the club and a thoughtful and socially aware message. The play is about funny and real middle school students, grappling with the challenges young people face today - drama, discrimination, bullying and acceptance.
