My Students

We are a K-8 school serving students from many different backgrounds. We are a very diverse community in culture and programs for our students. Every month I take students on a free monthly field trip in our community. I believe that students need to journey outside their school and neighborhoods to see the rich historical things our community has to offer. In the past 18 years I have taken students on 150 local trips, 8 years of overnight camping, and 1 international trip.

My Project

My students go on a trip once a month in my class. Every June we take a camping trip where students rock wall climb and hike. This device will give us the ability to document our experience with a hands free device. I can only picture the students being able to document their climb to the rock wall tower in a way that shows their start to finish. A Go Pro will take our out of classroom trips to a place that we can reflect during our trips and be able to reflect when we return home in a way that we can see our journey.
