Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Esports program at our school has just completed its first year. Students play various games, such as Super Smash Bros, Valorant, Overwatch 2, Rocket League, and Mario Kart. Our Super Smash Brothers team made it to the semifinals (top 4) of over 200 teams. Our Valorant team also made it to the semifinals (top 4) of over 100 teams nationwide. With the success that we are having, we have decided to start streaming matches on various sites.

A streaming setup for our players would completely transform our environment and give them practical experience with a variety of skills, both digital and physical:

Behind the Scenes: Streaming involves various talents such as video production, graphic design, and audience engagement.

Content Creation: Streaming encourages creativity in content creation. Students can experiment with different game genres, commentary styles, and presentation formats to develop their unique streaming personas.

Community Building: Streaming fosters a sense of community as students interact with viewers through live chat, comments, and social media. This can help them develop essential communication skills and create lasting connections with like-minded individuals.

Technical Proficiency: Establishing a streaming setup requires technical knowledge of software and hardware components. By building and maintaining their streaming platforms, students can improve their technical proficiency in areas such as video encoding, audio mixing, and hardware configuration.

Career Opportunities: Streaming has become a viable career path for many individuals. By introducing students to streaming, you're exposing them to potential future career opportunities in content creation, esports, game development, and digital marketing.

Overall, providing students with a streaming setup is a valuable educational experience that combines technical skills development with creative expression and community engagement. Any support towards would be greatly appreciated, but would ultimately serve to enhance the Esports experience for all of our students.
