My Students

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION!!! Help us begin directing a movie that will begin the journey full of successful adventures! We are ready to begin studying nonfiction texts and take on new roles! We are hoping to gain smartboard software, and nonfiction literature for our classroom.

I have 25 AMAZINGLY talented actors in my third grade classroom that are always eager to learn more.

We have a variety of learning levels that foster the most loving and caring environment a student can hope for. Many of my actors are not only struggling learners; but they are coming to me with baggage too heavy for their little shoulders to carry. Our school is considered high poverty because of the clientele we serve. As a result of the increased demands and lack of exposure to informational text, my prayer is to send them off to fourth grade prepared for higher challenges as a result of the literacy centers and hands on cd rom requests made.

My Project

With the materials we are requesting, we will be able to not only take on Common Core and the high expectations placed on third graders; we will surpass them and create higher expectations for future classes. With your generosity and support, my awesome learners will be exposed to a very rich environment with non-fiction text and be given a hands on technique to test taking strategies in today's classroom. I know I have the smartest students in the school, and with your support we will show the world what we can really do!!! The smartboard programs I requested will enable my kinesthetic learners to participate and enable me the opportunity to provide corrective feedback that fosters better understanding. The listening center items will help my students engage in non-fiction literature and begin self-directed discussions about the text.

This project is going to help me create a better appreciation and understanding for literature in the classroom.

My current actors need to be exposed and taught using informational text. I am praying you will find it in your heart to help my sweet learners take this challenge and win the Emmy award on their state mandated tests!
