My students need 2 iPod Touch 6th Generation with accessories, Lego minifigures, Chain Reaction Kits, and Wooden Stacking Towers for our animation studio.

My Students

Innovative, creative, and hardworking are just a few of the words I would use to describe my students. They are the reason I can't wait to get to school every day! They challenge me just as often as I challenge them.

We are a Title I school in rural Florida, and while we don't have Disney World, we do have magic happening in our classrooms every day.

We are also a STEAM Innovate Learning Lab. That is a mouthful, but it describes an amazing change in classroom instruction. In our room, we use collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity throughout our day. The kids are taking ownership of their education and the results are phenomenal. We are thinking about and preparing for our future in third grade.

My Project

As an Innovative STEAM Lab, I am constantly trying to make real-world connections with hands-on experiences. With the addition of these iPod Touches and accessories and Lego minifigures my STEAMovators will be able to create Lego animations. They will learn what it takes to be an animator, script writer, editor, and director.

Training kids today for tomorrow's careers is a daunting task.

Children can't be what they can't see, so I want to make certain that I connect what we are exploring in class to future professions.

In addition, the wooden stacking blocks, along with the Lego Chain Reaction kits will allow us to explore careers in science and engineering. The kids love to build and problem solve, so these resources will be a definite asset in our classroom.
