My Students

My students are diverse and come from all over the world!

They are learning English as a new language as well as adapting to their new environment!

They are engaged in the process and a joy to teach. My school is a wonderful community of teachers and students. Though our school is great, it comes with challenges as a Title 1 school. We struggle to meet the needs of our students, because of lack of rigorous, innovative, and fun items in the classroom, which would engage students and encourage learning!

My Project

Unfortunately, my school is overcrowded to the point that I am teaching in a small tutor room. Windowless classroom lead to stagnant energy and stagnant minds. The right amount of bright lightening helps promote good spirits, ability to concentrate and has a calming effect. With your help, the lights will harmonize students with their surrounding environment. The wall shelves will provide a place to keep our books organized and provide an area on the floor to encourage reading and learning. The wall map creates a sense of bringing outdoors in and has a very strong life-energy force.
