We have a fledgling theatre program with excited, talented students! They're working tirelessly to bring this art to our small, little spot on the map. In true theatre fashion, most of them can barely contain their enthusiasm! Who am I kidding?! They're ecstatic to have a place where they feel like they belong.
The students come from a rural, consolidated school in the delta.
Collectively, the communities have an above average poverty rate. The students range from eighth to twelfth grade.These kids are incredibly hard working and deserving.
These students are excited to get started planning, creating and growing in their knowledge of theater! Part of stage craft is learning how to develop characters and set scenes using every available resource. This project will help them expand their knowledge of stage lighting.
My Project
These stage lights and lighting accessories will give my students the opportunity to use the control panel that they received as a bonus item with their spotlight for their musical last year.
The addition of these lights will help them learn about how to set up lighting, how to create new lighting effects, how to adjust light placement on stage, how to create atmosphere, and how lighting can play a big part in helping to set their scene.
The addition of these lights to our theatre program will help these students grow into better, more well rounded fine arts students.
