My Students

My classroom is a diverse inclusive classroom of low income students aged 3 to 5. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at school. We are located in the inner city of Pittsburgh and provide a free comprehensive program that is designed to nurture and support each child as we prepare them to transition to kindergarten.

My students are very interested in science and enjoy exploring and building with manipulatives.

They are dreamers, thinkers and questioners and love to discover new ideas.

My Project

These materials will allow our students to explore and play with light. We need a light table with an assortment of accessories. This will provide different manipulatives for students to use, and they will have fun while learning.

This project will allow students to build on their science and engineering skills.

Students will use these things during choice time. These items will also be used during small groups for focused learning.

My students need to have many opportunities to grow and learn. Providing them with materials to do so will ensure they have a headstart on learning and will foster their love and desire to explore and learn throughout their lives.
