This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach young superheroes who struggle with moderate disabilities. They struggle with the harsh fluorescent lighting in our classroom. Their sensory needs require that I cover the lighting to provide a safe environment for their learning. This project will provide them with comfort and relief from that lighting while also giving them a unique calming area to learn and engage in. This new environment will enable them to work with peers on math activities where they practice counting skills, writing activities where they work on writing simple sentences, and will also give them the calming environment they need to read books independently.
Please help me to provide the necessary relief from the glare and harsh lighting that is in our classrooms.
