My students need 3 Kindle Fire tablets with cases.
This project expired on October 5, 2016.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are mainly from a rural/small town setting. Students come from a variety of backgrounds. Some bring lots of experiences to school, others have limited experiences. We have a high percentage of free or reduced lunch. Our primary school received Title 1 funds.
However, we are a close-knit community of learners.
Students are eager to learn. Our school district is small with just one primary, elementary, middle, and high school. Nonetheless, our district has had many successes, winning state awards for performance.
With the addition of Kindle Fire tablets to our classroom, my students will be able to apply technology to their learning. These tablets will allow them access to ebooks. This will allow them to listen to books during Guided Reading center time.
These tablets will allow my students to access apps to enhance reading and math instruction.
Again, they will be able to work in pairs during Guided Reading center time to practice skills they are learning during the lessons.
I am especially excited about the publishing apps available for the Kindle Fire tablets. With these writing apps, my students will be able to create ebooks of their own writing. They can also create reports to present to the class.
