My Students

My students are energetic, innovative kids who love to learn through collaboration and teamwork. They enjoy to learn through less traditional activities and find a lot of success through working together. Having opportunities for them to choose where they work helps provide an atmosphere where students can learn from each other.

I want to provide them with spaces around my classroom that allow for collaboration.

Having more community areas will help me reach that goal for the kids in my classroom. Giving students opportunities to work together helps prepare them for their futures.

My Project

My school is currently undergoing construction on a new addition. I used to have a somewhat large window in the corner of our classroom that would let us have natural light streaming in from outside. This would allow us to work with only one set of the fluorescent lights on. The fluorescent lights can be hard on the kids eyes and not as calming as natural lighting.

Soft lighting will help create a warm, relaxing environment in our room where students will be able to learn and grow.

The rechargeable lights are portable and will allow students to take them to any area of the classroom to work, whether that is on the floor or at a table. Having these lights will allow us to continue to work with less fluorescent lights.
