My Project

"In special education, there's too much emphasis placed on the deficit and not enough on the strength" is my favorite quote by Temple Grandin. It has always been my goal and passion to provide each of my students with the ability to show the world what they are actually capable of despite their disabilities.

The textured panels, light table, and gel alphabet letters are a few items that will assist my students who struggle with different sensory disabilities, to learn by having the opportunity to engage in different sensory items.

Each item selected has been chosen to allow my students the chance to learn though touch while learning how to work independently. They will be using fine motor skills as they work with the ice cream cones and nuts about counting activity to count and The ocean Adventure and sensory mats will provide the extra sensory manipulatives to aide in their disability. The color sorter will help the students with fine motor skill and how to sort will learning their colors. Each of these items will assist in daily learning and to meet each of their individual needs.
