This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My scholars are rock stars! We are part of a Title 1 school and 77 percent of my students come from low socioeconomic families, receiving free/reduced lunch, but learning is one thing that keeps on going! My students give me the drive and purpose. When they are at school, they are lighthearted, driven scholars and there with one purpose, to learn. They put aside their external concerns to just enjoy being at school and being surrounded by their supportive peers and educators. In class, we work as a supportive team to help each other.

In my classroom, students become college-prepared and empowered to become lifelong learners. Scientists, engineers, educators, and many other professionals are produced. My students are striving daily to become global citizens who will make a positive difference in the world regardless of their background or socioeconomic status. We are leaving our future to them. Investing in their education is the best investment you can make!

My Project

With a decade-old projector in our classroom, my students' learning is being negatively affected. Even after changing the bulb, filter, and cables, the color is out and overly dim. For students to clearly read any text through the projector, all lights have to be off in the classroom. Lights are turned off at least ten times a day for the whole class to visibly see the front screen, resulting in loss of learning time.

Help us incorporate more technology in the classroom while allowing students to participate in multiple activities with the lights on, providing no loss of learning time.

A new projector will also help my students stop their eye sights from being negatively affected. Help us incorporate Class Dojo, Kahoot, Quizlet, Jeopardy, and even iMovie (IN COLOR)! Through the new projector, students will also project their own work and learn to share with the class for collaboration. We live in a technologically advanced nation. Students should be able to experience and benefit from them as well.
