"We will always have STEM with us. Some things will drop out of the public eye and will go away, but there will always be science, engineering, and technology. And there will always, always be mathematics." ~Katherine Johnson
My students have a great love for learning and exploration of new ideas, especially those that relate to STEM.
They come from diverse backgrounds and have many different learning styles, strengths, and needs. They learn best when they are able to explore and create their own learning through engaging experiences. The more excited they become about a project or topic, the more they are able to gain from it.
Our Title I school is located in a rural town and we are a very close-knit community. Many of the families at our school have been in the district for generations.
My Project
As a classroom teacher, my job is to help get my students excited about all kinds of learning including the practical applications of science, technology, engineering and math to their daily lives.
Using applied sciences such as circuit building allows for both creativity and building of skills for future career opportunities.
My students are very enthusiastic about STEM projects and love to build, create, and problem solve. Not only will the materials requested allow them to do just that, but they will also be able to spread some holiday cheer! The students will create holiday cards using the paper circuit materials which will be sure to bring smiles and cheer to the recipients. They will learn how to build simple circuits so that they understand the components of a circuit, how energy flows through a circuit, and what makes a circuit work.
Your donation to this project will benefit future crafty scientists! Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my project.
