My Students

I have 15 wonderful and inquisitive five-year-old and six-year-old students in my classroom. We are a very diverse group and speak many different languages. My students are all part of my district's ELL program and are learning English as a second language.

Kindergarten is an exciting journey!

It's a year of growth and development both academically and socially. Kindergarten gives students the opportunity to learn through play - the way children learn best. When you enter the doors of a great kindergarten classroom you should see students engaged in purposeful play and hands-on learning.

My Project

Help me give my students a light table so that they can explore letters, numbers and shapes in an engaging new way. A light table can be used to enhance literacy, math and writing skills in a fun and playful manner. Students will enjoy the soft glow of light and reflecting colors of the light table as they play.

A light table can be used for everything from open-ended play experiences, to building with blocks, and learning about letters and numbers.

It is an engaging and exciting tool that kindergarteners are sure to love. The possibilities for play and exploration are endless!
