My Students

My students are coming to my classroom from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. I am honored to be their teacher and am determined to make a positive impact on their young lives!

Last year, I was welcomed into a dynamic and dedicated team of educators who truly embrace the growth mindset.

This year I’m going to be teaching first grade! As a newer teacher in a treasured "old" school, I am set on making my mark and providing the best learning experience possible for my students.

My Project

According to research, scientists believe that when students engage in learning through hands on activities using their senses, they create pathways in their brains that make it easier to retain and access their learning. In other words, we learn by doing. This light table and learning activities will inspire my students to do hands on practice in both math and literacy, and create those pathways to school success!

Learning should light up our lives, and this light table and activities will motivate even the most reluctant of learners in my classroom!

There is so much to learn in first grade, and so little time for play, it's easy for our little learners to just turn off. This light table, and the learning activities I have selected will be a hot commodity in my classroom! Students enjoy activities that are hands on, and this table, with lights, and colors, and manipulative materials for both math and literacy will inspire every child in my classroom this fall, and for years to come.

By providing my students with this color changing light table and activities you will be providing them an opportunity to do independent and cooperative learning in both math and literacy. The materials I have selected cover a range of abilities and interests and will allow every student the opportunity to practice important foundational learning and literally SHOW what they know! I am certain that this table and activities will get daily use, this year, and in my future classes.
