This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a public school district located in Milwaukee. All my students come from low income homes and receive free lunch. My twenty energetic preschoolers are creative, curious, and warm-hearted.
In our classroom, we have created a family community.
We work together, share together, and most importantly we learn together.
I love to see my students learn new things. Their faces light up and they get so excited! To know that I am apart of their learning is an amazing feeling.
My Project
My students love to use their hands to learn, explore and be creative. A light table in our classroom would allow them to do just this.
Having a light table will enhance my students' learning by allowing them to use their imagination and build with different types of materials, enhancing their fine motor skills.
It has been studied, that gentle light draws children in to it. By having a classroom light table, this would benefit them by helping to build up their attention span, a critical skill for every student to have. Actually, the benefits of having a light table for my preschoolers seem to be endless!
