This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are a very diverse group of children. Our school is represented by all walks of life. As a Physical Education teacher I have the great opportunity to see every student in our school weekly. Our students are made up of a high population of special education students as well as low-income families. Our school population of Hispanic as well other bilingual students has continued to grow rapidly. With all that is stacked against our students we continue to grow and defy the odds. Our P.E. program needs a way to help our students with learning and developing a plan to live a healthy life.
My Project
In our P.E. classes we use a few UV lights to amplify everyday physical activities to a whole new level. My students enjoy any activity that we use the lights. We can turn just an average day in PE to moments that our students will never forget just by the flip of a switch. These par lights and controllers can make our PE classes even better. Our plan is to use the lights and controller to program the lights to specific activities such as basketball. We incorporate musical beats into dribbling and the lights could help improve that skill by using visual effects along with audio effects. We also have students who have visual impairments that would benefit from this lights for many different reasons.
