My students need a portable projector to scaffold their visual support for English language development. Having pictures, videos, and other learning materials projected larger on our wall will significantly increase my students' comprehension on learning objectives.
My students are culturally and linguistically diverse. They come from multiple nations. Additionally, my students are working to overcome a range of social and economic adversities. They are joyful and love to learn yet do not have equitable access to 21st century learning tools.
My ESOL students are serious about learning although struggling to comprehend English Language.
Research tells us that lessons are more engaging when instruction employs more than one language domain, more than one learning style, and more than one media.
My district must prioritize its provision of technology for staff and students. Many resource teachers in my school lack projectors. Having a small space to facilitate ESOL instruction would allow me to use a small projector to illuminate visuals and to enlarge writing models. I would also be able to connect video clips that enhance our English language learning. Another benefit would be my students could display their work and presentations as they polish themselves through speaking tasks. Most of my students' only opportunity to engage with technology is at school.
A portable mini projector and a variety of connectors would provide me enough mobility to service my students with push in or pull out instruction.
