My Project

I am passionate about making chemistry come alive for our students! This project will allow me to create a captivating hands-on experiment using glow sticks, film canisters, and food coloring to explore chemical reactions. Students will witness the magic of chemistry firsthand, boosting their engagement and transforming learning into a fun and unforgettable experience.

Traditionally, learning about chemical reactions can feel abstract.

This project will transform that experience! Students will actively participate in learning by incorporating readily available, colorful materials. This project aims to visualize the invisible among my kids. Glow sticks' novelty and visual appeal, combined with colorful reactions, will spark students' curiosity and excitement about chemistry. These versatile containers will become mini-reaction vessels, allowing students to safely observe and analyze various chemical processes.

Furthermore, a splash of color adds another dimension to the learning experience. Students will use food coloring to visualize changes during reactions, making them more memorable and engaging. The clear visual representation of a chemical reaction happening in real life will help solidify their understanding of some abstract chemistry concepts.

My kids won't just be reading about reactions; they'll conduct their own mini-experiments. This active participation fosters deeper engagement and a sense of discovery.

The project allows them to connect the chemistry they learn in class to real-world phenomena like the light emitted from glow sticks, building a stronger foundation for future learning. Likewise, the excitement of glowing reactions and the element of play will make this a truly memorable learning experience for students, fostering a positive association with chemistry.
